Whether you’re searching for a job or an investor for your big idea, this is what you don’t want when that opportunity finally presents itself:
Gatekeeper: “So I see your last role/project ended in October 2012. What have you been doing since then?”
You: “…Nothing much.”
Make sure you stay busy! Not having a contracted form of employment is never an excuse for gaps in your CV. Start work on smaller, low-overhead projects to fill the time. This will help you keep your skills sharp, help you develop some new ones, and it provides you with some great conversational pieces when “the time” comes.
